The University of Nairobi (UoN) Hockey teams delivered an impressive performance during the 2025/2026 season, showcasing determination, teamwork, and competitive spirit across the different National leagues. The University fielded three teams in the prestigious Kenya Hockey Union League. Their exceptional performances are as follows;

UoN Ladies Promoted to the Premier League

The University of Nairobi (UON) emerged as the top university in the conference after delivering an outstanding performance during the just-concluded Kenya University Sports Federation (KUSF)–Nairobi South Conference (NASOKUSF) 2025/2026 Indoor Championships. The 2025/2026 season has been a landmark year for our teams, marked by exceptional performances across all indoor disciplines. From September 2025 to February 2026, our teams consistently demonstrated remarkable skill, discipline, teamwork, and resilience.

The UoN Dynamites delivered a commanding performance in the KBF Premier League, blowing away the Storms with a 52-36 win. From the opening whistle, the Dynamites brought intensity, teamwork, and precision, controlling the tempo and leaving the Storms chasing shadows.

With smart plays on both ends of the court and a defense that held strong under pressure, UoN proved they’re a force to be reckoned with this season. It wasn’t just a win—it was a statement.

The FA Cup was vital  win in terms of being a passport into Europe(Europa cup) and providing new funds and fresh hope of strengthening and rebuilding this squad.

To bring in a stronger mentality, a togetherness, a winning mentality, to make them harder to beat, more resilient and better defensively after years of being a soft touch.

Following announcement by International Chess Federation (FIDE) regarding the FIDE Online Olympiad 2020 - ONLINE - which will take place from July 22nd till August 30th, 2020,Chess Kenya has confirmed participation. Two of the participants are University of Nairobi Students.

The entire University of Nairobi community (staff, students and alumni) held a VIRTUAL UNIVERSITY DAY OF PRAYER, a day set aside for giving thanks to God and seeking for His continued blessings and protection to the University community.

EPL is set to resume on June 17 following the Covid -19 Pandemic lockdown, a number of clubs have been attempting to build up their players' fitness and get used to the behind-closed doors conditions they can expect for competitive action.
