UON Basketball Men & Women teams performance Kenya Basketball Federation National premier league 2021

The University of Nairobi Basketball Men team & Basketball Women team are currently among the top three teams in the ongoing Kenya Basketball Federation National Premier League 2021 that is being played at UoN sports grounds. The teams’ performance has been excellent, attracting a lot of media and stakeholders attention and have really projected the image of the university.

UoN don elected Regional Sports President

Dr. Simon Munayi, a UoN don was recently elected to the Presidency of the Federation of Eastern Africa University Sports (FEAUS) for a period of four years. Dr. Munayi was the Secretary General of the body before being elected President. The Federation of Eastern Africa University Sports comprises of 12 countries which include: the twelve countries in the Eastern Africa region, namely, Burundi, Comoros, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somali, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.

False Antidoping Allegations

The Ministry of Sports press release of 26th April, 2021 in regards to false anti doping allegations  sent by an individual known as Christian Rohde to the Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK) claiming to work for a German Television Network known as ZDF. In the email, Mr. Rohde alleged that he received information that Kenya, through ADAK and Athletics Kenya [AK] are engaged in a systematic coverup of doping cases among Kenyan athletes(Amb.(Dr.) Amina Mohamed, EGH, CAV CABINET SECRETARY)

World Rally Championship Guide 1 2021

Kenya is delighted to host the sixth round of the 2021 World Rally Championship (WRC) slated for the 24th to 27th June 2021. The Safari Rally, as it known today, was first held in 1953 to commemorate the coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. In its early days, the Safari Rally traversed the three East African Countries; Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Due to its robust character, the Safari Rally quickly gained global recognition as the “World’s Toughest Rally,” a reputation it has kept to date.
