CLeopas Makori an Alluminae of University of Nairobi class of 2014 has donated Soccer Balls to the Director of Sports and Games on 6th June 2023.
Lisa Wele, a Second-year student of the University of Nairobi, Faculty of Arts and social sciences is among the four Kenyan ladies listed for the upcoming Africa Festival of Table Tennis that is scheduled to take place from 1st May 2023 to 6th May 2023 at Kasarani.
The Department of Sports and Games is one of the Core Central Departments of the University of Nairobi. Services offered at the Department include; Students recreational and competitive sports (indoor and outdoor),staff recreational services and other physical wellness consultancies. The Director's Office is situated behind Hall 3- off State House road. Other Sports and Games sections are located at various University Colleges /Campuses (including Kisumu and Mombasa).
Teams from more than 20 countries who battled their way through qualifiers and national finals will tip off in front of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World;the Pyramids of Giza – for the climax of world's biggest 3×3 streetball tournament.
During the Kenya National qualifications and trials for the Redbull 3x3 Basketball Challenge, our ladies team (Dynamites) emerged as winners and so qualified for the world finals. The four ladies are Elizabeth Okumu, Faith Atieno, Shalon Gaceri, Alisha Ellora.
We wish them all the best as they prepare to participate in this global event.
The University of Nairobi Chancellor Dr. Vijoo Ratansi hosted the newly appointed Council for an induction meeting on 19th August, 2022.
The Chancellor congratulated the Chairperson Prof. Miriam Were and the other new members of the Council on their appointment and wished them noble stewardship tasks in executing their function that lies ahead.
During the meeting, the Chairperson and the new members familiarized themselves with the operations of the University as well all as the conduct and management of council business.
The University of Nairobi will host the 2022 edition of National Inter universities indoor games at UON Sports ground. These sports will include Chess, Scrabble, Badminton, Table Tennis, Tennis, Swimming, Karate, Tae Kwo Do, Rugby and Basketball.
