UON BASKETBALL MEN DELIVER EXCEPTIONAL PERFORMANCE AT KUSF NAIROBI SOUTH CONFERENCE

The University of Nairobi Men’s Basketball Team, popularly known as The Terrorists, showcased outstanding performance at the Kenya Universities Sports Federation (KUSF) Nairobi South Conference, sealing their place among the top contenders heading toward the National Games scheduled for this December at the University of Eldoret.

Mean Machine rolls into the weekend with unstoppable energy as they prepare for their second clash of the 2025/2026 campaign against the JKUAT Cougars this weekend 29th November,2025, carrying the hunger, discipline and fire that defined their opening weekend. The boys in blue have trained with purpose all week, sharpening their phases, tightening their defence and polishing their set pieces as they lock in for another high-intensity battle.

The University of Nairobi’s legendary rugby side, Mean Machine RFC, is fired up for an explosive 2025/2026 campaign as both Machine I and Machine II gear up to conquer the KRU Championship and Nationwide League respectively. Machine I kicks off their season this Saturday, 22nd November, against Homeboyz RFC, and the boys are locked in with one mission—win the championship and restore Machine dominance. The squad has shown incredible hunger, discipline, and power in training, blending experienced leaders with fresh young talent ready to make their mark.

UoN Hockey Teams Roar in Mombasa: Strong Performances in KHU League Battles

The University of Nairobi hockey teams made their presence felt at the coast this past weekend during the Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) League matches held on April 19th and 20th, 2025, at the Mombasa Sports Club. Facing stiff competition, the Cubs, Lions, and the ladies’ team all showed grit, skill, and team spirit in a weekend of thrilling action.

UON Dynamites Detonate Storms in 52-36 Premier League Victory!

The UoN Dynamites delivered a commanding performance in the KBF Premier League, blowing away the Storms with a 52-36 win. From the opening whistle, the Dynamites brought intensity, teamwork, and precision, controlling the tempo and leaving the Storms chasing shadows.

With smart plays on both ends of the court and a defense that held strong under pressure, UoN proved they’re a force to be reckoned with this season. It wasn’t just a win—it was a statement.

UoN Champions a Drug-Free Lifestyle Through “Talanta Bila Uraibu” Campus Soccer Tournament

The University of Nairobi, in partnership with Masese Za Abdala & Rapture Resource Agency, hosted the vibrant "Talanta Bila Uraibu" Campus Soccer Tournament at the Main Campus Sports Grounds. Organized through the University’s Directorate of Sports, this two-day event held on the 12th and 13th aimed to promote a drug-free lifestyle among students through the power of sports.

MEAN MACHINE BOUNCE BACK STRATEGY

The Vice Chancellor held a consultative meeting today to discuss matters pertaining the performance of Mean Machine (UON Rugby team) and challenges thereof. The team agreed on a bounce back strategy which will see Machine reclaim their title in the Kenya Cup.

In attendance are; DVC(AA) -Prof. Leonidah Kerubo,KRU Chairman- Alexander Mutai, Mean Machine First Captain (1977)- Cliff Mukulu ,Ag. Director,Sports and Games-Rose Marete, Games Tutor in charge Rugby team-Raphael Kithuka and the current Mean Machine captain -Victor Mwangi.
