Excited Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says he can’t wait to work with Kieran Tierney when football returns

Mikel Arteta says he is looking forward to working with Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney when football returns.

Tierney is yet to play under the Gunners boss due to a shoulder injury he suffered in December.

The £25million summer signing from Celtic returned to first-team training just before the coronavirus pandemic brought a halt to English football on March 13.

Arteta insists Tierney, who has started just four Premier League games this season due to injuries, could be a ‘special’ player for Arsenal.

Speaking to Gunners legend Ian Wright, as part of the adidas #hometeam campaign, Arteta said: “I’m really looking forward to working with him and giving him the opportunity to play.

“His attitude, his commitment, his willingness, it’s incredible.

“I think he’s going to bring something special to us. It [the injury] has been a shame, but it’s part of his development. During your career, you go through these moments.
