The students’ teams emerged as the overall winners after competing with over 30 teams that took part in the Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) national qualifications.

The UoN team, earlier in the month met with the institution's Vice Chancellor Prof. Stephen Kiama ahead of plans to travel to Egypt ahead of the competition.

During the meeting Kiama congratulated the team for reaching the final and wished them well in the competition.

"As you go to the competition, always carry the banner of UoN. I wish you all the best as you head to Egypt. Work hard and bring home trophies in this competition and any other competition that you will participate in,” he said.

Coach Juma Kent who will not be travelling with the team says their preparations have not been the best but in a quick rejoinder said he is confident they will give it their all as they eye the podium.
