UON SPORTS DAY 2026

The Sports Day will bring together staff and students from across the University for a day of competition, teamwork, recreation and celebration.

The event provides an opportunity for members of the University community to step away from their usual routines, showcase their sporting talents, build new friendships and strengthen the spirit of unity that defines the University of Nairobi.

Participants will have an opportunity to compete in a wide range of sporting and recreational activities, including:

• Athletics – 100m, 200m and 400m
• Football
• Volleyball
• Basketball
• Swimming
• Hockey
• Handball
• Netball
• Tug of War
• Chess
• Scrabble
• And other exciting fun activities and games

The competitions will cater for both staff and students, creating an opportunity for everyone to participate, compete and cheer for their teams.

All staff and students are encouraged to take part in this year's Sports Day. Whether you are an experienced athlete, a passionate team player, a chess or Scrabble enthusiast, or simply looking for a fun way to get involved, there is a place for you at UoN Sports Day 2026.

Interested participants are encouraged to register at their respective Faculties.

UoN Sports Day is more than a competition. It is a celebration of the University community and an opportunity to promote healthy lifestyles, teamwork, friendship and a sense of belonging.

Through sport, we connect across Faculties, departments and campuses, recognizing that although we may have different roles and responsibilities, we are one University with one shared spirit.

So, lace up, step onto the field, take your position and be part of the excitement!
