The University of Nairobi’s American Football Club (Mighty Nyati) in conjunction with Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology’s American Football Club (JKUAT Sparrows) and the Umoja Chiefs American Football Club have in the recent months liaised to form an arduous Kenyan National American Football Team that looks to burst into the international scene and take the game by storm. The team, boasts an array of talent with multiple strengths from all the three sides being syncretically orchestrated by the mastermind of Head Coach Dan Eck and his assistant Coach Teddy Dunde. Nyati brings to the team it’s well known capable Quarterbacks and aggressive Receivers who have enriched the team’s passing game while Sparrows’ strength on the line of scrimmage is unmatchable giving the team a niche when it comes to running the football. The defensive forte of Umoja Chiefs has ensured that the team gives nothing away to further improve the team’s formidability.

The team’s first test will be against Uganda’s American Football Team in the upcoming Africa University games that will be held at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology this coming December. In a game set to be a test of grit, power and acumen, the team is not leaving anything to the imagination and is preparing to show Kenya that the game is alive and in good form. Team Kenya’s training regimen has been stepped up in preparation for the game to ensure that a strong lineup is fielded for the brawl that is set to be a thriller.
